UME & USM BADGES

Summary:

To receive a Participation Certificate: attend classes and contribute to class discussions—there's nothing to hand in!

  • To receive the Level 1 Badge, you will need to submit the Canned Language Part 1 document. 

  • For a Level 2 Badge, you will need to submit Canned Language Parts 1 and 2. 

  • For Level 3 Badge, you will need to submit proof that you've submitted a real-world grant application.

Participation Certificate

To receive the participation certificate, you must attend 4 out of 5 live classes and participate in discussions. If you have an excused absence, you can watch the recording of the class you missed instead.

Level 1 Badge

To receive a Level 1 Badge, you will need to complete and submit the Canned Language Part 1 document to the instructor on the last day of class.

Level 2 Badge

For a Level 2 Badge, you will need to complete and submit Canned Language Parts 1 and 2 to the instructor on the last day of class.

Level 3 Badge

For Level 3 Badge, you must submit a real-world grant application. Please email me a screenshot that shows you submitted the grant and send me the text you used in the application.

Please note: You have up to one year after the program ends to "update your badge". For example, if you submit the documents to earn a Badge Level 2, and then submit a grant a month later, email me a screenshot that shows you submitted the grant and attach the language you used in your proposal. I will contact the University to update your badge, and you should receive a confirmation email from the University shortly after.
